Notes biographiques
Georges has spent his career as a forestry engineer, mainly in the Quebec civil service for the Ministry of Lands and Forests, Energy and Resources, and Wildlife and Parks.
Over the course of his career, Georges has held various positions, including:
- Head of a management unit in the Bas-Saint-Maurice territory (administration and management of human, financial and material resources)
- Project manager in the silvicultural field
- Technical advisor to Ministère des Forêts offices in the Mauricie and Centre regions of Quebec
- Ministry representative on the board of directors of a private forest development agency
- Ministry representative on tables harmonizing forest users.
Georges also spent some time working for a private company as General Manager, responsible for planning and supervising harvesting and transport operations and supervision of wood harvesting and transportation operations for various processing plants.
Retired since 2008, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Association des Blais d'Amérique in 2019 and appointed Registrar since that time. He has also served as vice-president since 2020 and has been responsible for the Journal des Blais since 2021.
