Club des Méritants (Award Club)

The Association of Blais of America wants to recognize the volunteer efforts of its members during its financial year (June 1 to May 31). Any member in good standing who receives an honorary distinction or recognition from the leadership is eligible for this "Club of Merit" through their involvement in various Association activities:

Genealogical research and assistance
Recruitment of new members
Securing sponsors
Blais Journal
Annual gathering
Blais history
Sale of promotional items
Regional representation
Active participation in the board of directors
Active participation in the Association’s various committees
Any other contribution worthy of recognition

Volunteers are often the forgotten pillars of an association. However, they are essential building blocks. Tangibly recognizing their work is a way to reward and motivate those who dedicate themselves to the Association of Blais of America.

Board members or any other member in good standing may nominate another member for the Club of Merit. To do so, they must submit the name of the member to be honored and the reasons why this person should be included in the Club of Merit.

The board of directors will decide which volunteers to honor according to the rules established in the current "Honorary Distinction and Leadership Awards Policy." The selected volunteer(s) will receive a certificate highlighting their contribution to the advancement of the Association of Blais of America during the Association’s annual gathering.

OUR HIGHEST RECONIGNITION, THE MEDAL OF EXCELLENCE

The Medal of Excellence aims to recognize outstanding efforts in creating and developing a viable association over a period of more than five years in a strategic role.

During its 2021 General Assembly held in Lévis, the board of directors recognized two members who successfully achieved this accomplishment between 2004 and 2020: Lucille Blais (M-215) and Jean-Marc Blais (M-256).

Both arrived at the head of the ABA with a deep commitment to creating a lasting association for the Blais of America. Their stories regularly resurface in past issues of the Journal des Blais.

We will continue to build upon their work and follow their example for many years to come.
