The representatives

Association representatives

Représentants de l'association Blais d'Amérique

In its quest for information on Blais across the province of Québec, the other Canadian provinces and in the United States, the Promotion, recruitment and regional representation committee is looking for one or more representatives for the Association des Blais d’Amérique in Quebec Municipal regional counties (MRC), in federal counties in other provinces and also in the United Stated, where live members of the greater Blais family. Currently in Quebec, more than 45 MRC have Blais Associaiton members. We would like for some of these members to accept being an Association representative in their MRC.

Regional representative, a first-order role

The tasks involved are important for the Association’s good operation and outreach. You would act, in your region, as a conveyor of information and as an ambassador for the Association.

Working with the person in charge of promotion, recruitment and regional representation, your main responsibilities would be to:

  • Find Blais interested in the Association through:

    • personal contacts
    • email
    • regular mail
    • telephone calls

  • invite members to recruit another member

    • in their families
    • among acquaintances in the area

  • follow up members who have not renewed their membership, following a personal call from the registrar

  • write an article for the “Journal des Blais”

    • regional news
    • identify noteworthy Blais in the area

  • promote Association activities

    • annual gathering: invite Blais
    • annual general meeting: propose candidates
    • regional activity
    • promote the Facebook site
    • be on the lookout for any news concerning Blais (members or not), active in the community, births, deaths, accomplishments, etc.

  • submit a written report at the end of April or as needed to the person in charge of the Promotion committee stating your promotion, publicity, recruitment and representation activities.

There are still some positions to be filled. If the challenge interests you, if you have a bit of time, if you know a willing Blais, please give us a sign: claudeblais7@gmail.com
